I remember when this movie came out… Spike Lee was the man keeping the streets on the big screen for me. Used to see dude walking fast as hell down Fulton Street in Brooklyn… cats would be like, “there goes Spike…” I’d be like, “oh shit, it IS!” Wantin’ to go shake his hand and get an autograph n’ shit… then dudes would be like, “That nigga’s wierd don’t fuck widdem!” He would take things to the personal side in his flicks but for the most part… his movies always coincided with my day-to-day life.
This movie right here was a dope ass musical/dance/broadway-meets-the-screen masterpiece though. Chicks were really fightin’ over weaves and natural… dark-skin vs. red-bone… but look at em all now… they ALL got some kinda fake sit goin’ on! All i can say is… it’s good to see that Spike was up on it enough to put it in artistic way. Big up the FroLab for the Fro-Back… yall youngins go and peep this one for your own enjoyment… we lived this shit!
