from the Press Release:
New High (M)art, the gallery-esque retailer known for hosting a series of designer-in-residence store exhibitions, announces the opening of its first thematic moment with a 9-week installment titled “World Fringe - An Ethno, Boho, Afro, Pow-Wow.” The retail equivalent of a group show, NH(M)’s latest tack involves curating designers and sourcing products that pivot around a central targeted theme.
In this current example, an ethnic-bohemian direction has been identified. Pointing to a handful of independent designers, both local and abroad, the goal is to highlight ethnic permutations currently thriving in first world fashion and explore them from a variety of distinct interpretations. Confirmed designers include: Society for Rational Dress (LA), Cavern (LA), Telfar (NY), Whitehorse Couture (LA), The Battalion (LA), Goddollars (LA), Marvin y Quetzal (MX), Brian Lichtenberg (LA), Death/Traitors (NY), Peggy Noland (KC), Nehima (LA).

from 12oz prohpet site…..
On April 3rd, 2008 at approximately 7:50am, Wayne “FROSTY FREEZE” Frost started his journey in to the next life. Our condolences go to his family and friends and all who knew of his great legacy. Frosty acknowledged those of us who came to visit him and was in good company during his last moments on this earth. For those of you who had the honor of knowing him, we all know that Frosty had a very celebrative spirit. He was constantly educating people and helped preserve the rich history of urban and Hip Hop culture. He was “the walking Hip Hopencyclopedia” and was one of the few brothers who had almost total recall in terms of history. We ask that you remember him as this greatpositive light who cared and loved many of us just as we loved and cared for him. On this day, we ask that people continue to keep him in their prayers.
A quote from Bobbito
“Growing up, I played at the Goat Park on 99th St. eh´ryday, and the grounds doubled as Rock Steady´s headquarters. I’d see Frosty rockin´ on the Pampers cardboard box a while before they discovered linoleum at the carpet store right by the entrance. Frosty also lived near Goddard Riverside on 92nd, which held a tournament in the early ’80s. He didn´t play ball that I know of, but he was surrounded by the culture.
Everyone who listens to rap music should say a prayer for the brother and his family. Breakin´was the first element of hip hop to go global, not rhyming.
And Frosty, you will be missed. You always showed me mad love and the respect I will always have for you is ridiculous. Mad love right back at´cha, homeboy.”
RIP FROSTY FREEZE
