I always love noticing a generator box that’s been wheatpasted or painted, or reading a sign that ‘isn’t supposed to be there’ and other artsy details that perk up the ‘public’ space all around us to remind you that there’s MORE. Apparently, so do these folks - and they are on a mission to increase those moments of ‘hey did u see that?’.
ISLANDS OF LA is revitalizing public space by turning traffic islands into territories of art.
The intention is to use art as a vehicle to create community, discussion and activities as well as explore the use and availability of public space. Very cool.
