A Sunday type of treat:
A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to be invited by G&D to Agape to experience a performance by Georgia Anne Muldrow Live at the spiritual center led by her mother Rickie Byars-Beckwith and step-father Michael Beckwith. The attendees to all 3 services that Sunday were treated to two songs, a jazzy version of her song “Roses” backed by the band, and then, a song with more of a gospel feel, “I Had A Revelation,” written by Rickie BB & Rev. Michael Beckwith, accompanied by the Agape International Choir.
A jazzy version of the Umsindo version of “Roses.”:
The Rev. interviews Georgia and her mother briefly before this heart felt performance of “I Had A Revelation“:
These both show Georgia in a completely different light, singing more traditional “songs” which makes your mind really start to wonder about the endless possibilities of her precious voice! She can go experimental, R&B, jazz, gospel, & who knows what else?! I haven’t seen the tracklist for the “Early” cd that the Runaway video is from but hopefully you’ll get to hear many of the early songs she recorded when she was 17 that we’ve been listening to, all of which expands the listeners perspective of Georgia’s songwriting and production talents. This woman is seriously a force to be reckoned with! Fans new and old are definitely in for a treat. & Don’t even get me started about the “Kings Ballad” album due out next year on Ubiquity… WOW. The range is endless…
