UK based singer Fatima, who I first heard on the “Little Girl” single from Shafiq Husayn’s album, is out with a new EP entitled “Mind Traveling” featuring Dam Funk. The above video is for the song “Soul Glo” - produced by Funkineven / Directed by The Boy King.
In regards to the “art direction”, I think the idea was better than the execution, and while I’m not sure if Soul Glo type products ever came in a 409 bottle (LOL), I’m still leaning towards liking it anyway? And about the lyrics, I may have never told someone they “give me that… jheri curl” but now I just might – BUT does that refer to a way they make me smell or some reference to a level of moisture? I don’t know.
What do you think? But I do like her voice – and her sense of humor (did you peep her version of the Little Girl video?).

Yeah. I’m with you. The 409 bottle was weird. That must be the industrial strength jheri curl juice. For, as my Grandmother used to say, that “original African grain.”
The video was ok. I liked the infomercial bit. But the song just fell flat to me. I thought they could have done so much more with it. And yes, Fatima’s voice is dope. But she deserves better material. But then again, that’s just my two cents
