TV TUNE IN: “Good Hair Debate” on Dr. Drew’s Life Changers [11/15]

Tuesday on Dr. Drew’s Life Changers, the show will hash out the age-old debate: why African-American women love their hair. Special guests include @KimColes, Derek J, and celebrity natural hair stylist Felicia Leatherwood, who conducts the international “Loving Your Hair” workshop series, and who will be a part of a natural hair makeover. The show debates natural hair, perms, weaves and wigs and Felicia let us know this past weekend at her LA workshop to be sure to tune in because the debate gets heated! Definitely set your DVRs! Check the video for a inside look at the show. & See a few pix from the LA Loving Your Hair Workshop below the video.

This past Sunday, November 13th, Felicia Leatherwood invited us to her Loving Your Hair Workshop at the Wilshire Grand in Downtown LA. (See official recap pix here.) It was such an informative and inspirational event for afronistas, naturalistas, curly girls, those transitioning to natural hair and all the other names we like to call ourselves. It was nice to look around the room to see all the beautiful hair and I hope to participate in more of these types of enthusiastic natural hair gatherings in LA! Check out the website for upcoming dates and follow her on twitter (@lovingyourhair) & facebook to see when she’s bringing this great event to your city.

I saw the show today and I must say it was quite interesting and it is needed to create dialogue when it comes to accepting the hair that we’re born with.

I don’t usually write shows and things like that, this is my first time so I don’t know if you actuallu tead things like this. Today on your show you asked if their is anyone that needs help in making small changes. Well that is where I come in. I DESPERATELY NEED HELP. I had seven kids which one passed away four years ago at the age of 13 months. I have a real problem in disciplining my little kids and boy does it show with their behavior. And that’s what scares me, you see these teenagers acting out sex, drugs and all that they lack discipline in their lives. I know how important it is to have discipline and structurE and even then you just might run into the same problems. I have been through a lot in my life and I know it has effected my ability to discipline my shildren as well as the fact that they came after a series of miscarriages and a death of my daughter. Thank you for your time and if you have any advice for me, I will greatly appreciate it.
