Excited for frolaborator Tokio Aoyama whose art show opens in London next week. You may have seen his art here on frolab and
gracing the covers of classic lp’s from Oddisee, Trek Life, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Dudley Perkins.
I have also been blessed to be immortalized in paint by the Tokio in a painting he sent me of myself. Without ever meeting me he capture me in 3 phases of my life with one of them i had not yet gone thru.
“An artist who paints with a combination of metaphysical, spiritual, and music themes, Tokio Aoyama hails from a tiny town in the north of Japan. Tokio has painted murals and has done commission work for clients all over the world. He has designed art for record labels Epistrophik Peach Sound, Mello Music, Moamoo, and Jazzy Sport. Have done numerous private commissions for domestic and international clients. He has also done many live paintings at Music events such as Appi Jazzy Sport ,Japan.Presently looking to share insight of Japanese culture, history, and tradition such as tattooing and art trends of present day Japan.”
